Cloud AI Analysis Privacy Control

When you enable “Disable Cloud AI Analysis,” Hedy switches to transcription-only mode. Your conversations are still transcribed locally on your device, but the transcripts are not sent to cloud AI services for analysis.

Features That Are Disabled

With cloud AI analysis turned off, these features will not be available:

  • Automatic Suggestions - Live in-call coaching tips and real-time AI responses (also called live suggestions or live coaching)

  • Chat with Hedy - Asking questions about your meetings, including Quick Prompts

  • Meeting summaries - AI-generated recaps of your conversations

  • Highlights - Key moments and important points

  • Meeting notes - Structured notes from discussions

Features That Still Work

These features continue to work normally:

  • Live transcription - Speech-to-text processing happens locally on your device

  • Session recording - Audio recording and storage

  • Session management - Creating, organizing, and storing sessions

  • Topics - Grouping sessions by topic

  • Local data storage - All your data stays on your device

How to Enable

  1. Open Settings and go to the Privacy & System tab

  2. Toggle on Disable Cloud AI Analysis

When to Use This

Consider enabling this setting if:

  • You have strict privacy requirements for sensitive conversations

  • Your organization has data governance policies restricting cloud processing

  • You only need transcription without AI-powered insights

Note: You can re-enable cloud AI analysis at any time by toggling this setting off. Your existing transcripts will then be available for AI analysis.

Hedy is only transcribing — is Cloud AI Analysis disabled?

If Hedy is transcribing your meeting but is not giving you any live responses, automatic suggestions, chat replies, highlights, notes, or summaries, it is very likely that Disable Cloud AI Analysis was turned on — either intentionally, or by accident while exploring settings.

To check:

  1. Open Settings and go to the Privacy & System tab

  2. Find the Disable Cloud AI Analysis toggle

  3. Make sure it is off — when it is on, Hedy runs in transcription-only mode and cannot generate any AI output

  4. Go back to your session and send a chat message or quick prompt to confirm Hedy responds

Turning this setting back off re-enables all AI features immediately; you do not need to restart the session.
