Invoices, receipts, and VAT for Hedy purchases

Where your invoice comes from depends on where you bought Hedy. Current web purchases get a tax invoice from our billing portal, and you can add your company details to it yourself. Purchases made inside the iPhone, iPad, or Android app are billed by Apple or Google, and their receipts work differently.

Download an invoice for a web purchase

Each completed web payment produces a tax invoice showing any applicable VAT. It was emailed to your billing address, and you can re-download it anytime:

  1. Open the billing portal.
  2. Enter your billing email. The portal emails you a one-time sign-in link.
  3. Open Payments, select the payment, and download the invoice PDF.

The billing email is the address you entered at checkout, and it is not always the same one you sign in to Hedy with. If the sign-in link never arrives, see why the billing portal won’t email you a sign-in link. Some older web subscriptions are billed through a different portal; if this one cannot find your payment, open App Settings in Hedy and tap Manage plan to reach the right one. You can also email support@hedy.bot and we will send your invoice directly.

Add your company name, address, or VAT ID

For web purchases, the invoice often shows only an email address and postal code, because that is all checkout collects. You can add your full details yourself:

  1. Sign in to the billing portal with your billing email.
  2. Open Payments and select the payment you want the invoice for.
  3. Choose Update invoice, enter your name, company name, address, and VAT ID if you have one, then save.

Each invoice can be updated once, so enter everything in one pass. The update applies only to that invoice, so if you want your company details on a future renewal invoice, repeat these steps for that payment in the billing portal.

If you add a valid VAT ID, the portal may automatically refund the VAT and reissue the invoice under the reverse charge rules, so the revised invoice will no longer show VAT. Check with your accounting team which form they need before entering a VAT ID, since each invoice can only be updated once.

Purchases billed by Apple

If you subscribed inside the iPhone or iPad app, Apple handles all billing. Apple emails receipts and keeps every charge in your purchase history. We cannot issue or change invoices for Apple charges. If an Apple receipt does not meet your company’s requirements, use the web checkout for future purchases instead (see below).

Purchases billed by Google Play

If you subscribed inside the Android app, Google Play handles all billing. Your receipts are in your Google Play order history. We cannot issue invoices for Google Play charges, but if you live in the European Economic Area, the UK, Switzerland, or Morocco, you can request a VAT invoice from Google at payments.google.com, including your address and tax ID. Otherwise, use the web checkout if you need a company invoice.

Buy Hedy Pro with a company invoice

To get invoices for your company’s records, subscribe through the web instead of inside the mobile app.

The easiest path on a Mac or Windows computer is to start the upgrade from inside Hedy (App Settings, then upgrade). That opens the web checkout already tied to your account, so Pro unlocks as soon as you pay.

If you buy from the pricing page instead:

  1. Open hedy.ai/pricing in a browser and pick your plan. Credit cards are accepted.
  2. Use your work email at checkout if you want invoices to arrive there.
  3. After paying, tap the activation link shown on the confirmation page and in your purchase email. It opens Hedy and unlocks Pro on your account. The link is valid for 60 minutes; opening an expired link automatically emails you a fresh one, and if that never arrives, email support@hedy.bot and we will connect the purchase for you.
  4. Add your company details to the invoice using the steps above.
