Download Sessions as Documents
Any finished session can leave Hedy as a file on your device. Open the session and pick what you want to save.
What You Can Download
| Action | What it contains | Formats |
|---|---|---|
| Download Summary | The session recap | Text, Markdown, Word, PDF |
| Download Detailed Notes | The long-form notes | Text, Markdown, Word, PDF |
| Download All Data | Everything below, in one document | Text, Markdown, Word, PDF |
| Download Transcript | The transcript text | Text only |
Choosing one of the first three opens a Save Session Content As dialog where you pick the format:
- Download as Text: plain
.txt, no formatting - Download as Markdown:
.md, which keeps headings and lists as markup - Download as Word (.docx): opens in Word, Pages, or Google Docs
- Download as PDF: fixed layout, good for sending on
Word and PDF keep your headings, lists, bold and italic text, quotes, and tables rather than flattening everything into plain paragraphs.
Two Things Worth Knowing
Download Transcript has no format menu. It goes straight to your system’s save dialog and always writes a plain .txt file. If you want the transcript as a Word document or PDF, copy the text into your own editor.
Download All Data does not include the transcript. It gathers the session date and duration, the recap, detailed notes, your session notes, highlights, chat history, and to-dos. To keep the transcript as well, use Download Transcript separately.
If PDF Export Complains
PDF export can only draw characters covered by the font bundled with Hedy. Most Latin-script languages are fine. Content outside it, including many non-Latin scripts and some rarer symbols and emoji, cannot be drawn, and Hedy will point you to Word instead. The .docx file uses your system’s fonts, so it handles those characters.
