Connect Your OMI Wearable to Hedy
Hedy can receive live transcripts straight from your OMI wearable instead of using your device’s microphone. Once connected, you’ll see “OMI” as an audio source when starting a session.
Before You Start
You’ll need:

An OMI device and the OMI app installed on your phone.

The native Hedy app (iOS, Android, macOS, or Windows). The integration is not available in the web app.

Cloud Sync enabled in Hedy (Settings → Cloud Sync). OMI transcripts are delivered through Hedy’s servers, so Cloud Sync must be on.
Connect OMI to Hedy

Open Hedy and go to Settings → OMI.

Tap Connect OMI. Hedy will show a waiting screen with a countdown timer. You have 10 minutes to finish the next steps.

Open the OMI app on your phone.

Go to the OMI app store (or Apps section) and find Hedy. Install or enable it.

Follow the OMI setup prompts. When OMI asks you to sign in, it will open the Hedy web app in your browser.

The Hedy web app will show a confirmation that your account is linked. You can close the browser tab.

Return to the Hedy app. The OMI settings should now show Connected.
Tip: If the countdown expires before you finish, just tap Connect OMI again to restart.
Use OMI During a Session

In Hedy, tap New session.

In the configuration panel, find Audio source and choose OMI (instead of This Device).

Start the session and put on your OMI device.

While the session is live, you’ll see a sensor icon where the audio waveform normally appears. That means Hedy is waiting for OMI to deliver transcripts.

Speak. Within a few seconds, your words will appear in the transcript.
Note: You cannot pause an OMI session. If you need to stop talking, just end the session and start a new one later.

Disconnect OMI

Open Settings → OMI in Hedy.

Tap Disconnect.
This unlinks your OMI account. Transcripts from your OMI device will no longer flow into Hedy. You can reconnect any time.
Troubleshooting
“This Hedy account is already linked to another OMI account”
You’ve already connected a different OMI device. Go to Settings → OMI in Hedy and disconnect first, then start again.
“That OMI account is already linked to another Hedy account”
The OMI device is linked to someone else’s Hedy account. Sign in to that account and disconnect, or contact support.
“The OMI linking session expired”
The 10-minute window ran out. Tap Connect OMI in Hedy to start a fresh link.
“Linking must be initiated from Hedy”
You clicked an OMI setup link without first tapping Connect OMI in Hedy. Open Hedy, tap Connect OMI, then install the Hedy app in OMI.
OMI option doesn’t appear when starting a session
Confirm you’re signed in to Hedy, Cloud Sync is on, and OMI is connected in Settings. If all three are true and the option is still missing, restart the app.
Transcripts aren’t appearing during a session
Check that your OMI device is worn correctly, charged, and paired to the OMI app on your phone. If everything looks right and still no transcripts, end the session and start a new one.
